Whitley Mics Automatic Jar Gassing System

The Whitley MICS is a new addition to the Whitley family of products. This jar gassing system can greatly reduce the cost of processing anaerobic or microaerophilic samples when using jars from dollars to pennies. There is quick connect to the jar and by simply pressing the correct button a vacuum sequence will begin and then the correct gas mix will be injected into the jar. The major benefit of the system is that the user can add additional plates to the jars and simply run the vacuuming and gassing process again and then place the container back into the incubator. When using gas packs once the pack has been put in use the user cannot access and add more plates to the jar without using another gas pack to recondition the atmosphere of the jar. The easy-to-use system has an LCD display that indicates the progress of the cycle and alerts the user to any problems that may have occurred i.e. a leaking jar. One plastic, ten-plate jar is included with the system, however, if you currently are using jars from another manufacturer many of these can be adapted to fit the Whitley MICS system lowering the cost of acquisition.

Microbiology International offers two different types of anaerobic jars, plastic or stainless steel, that are compatible with your MACS Mics automatic jar gassing system. The plastic jars have a 9-plate capacity and the lids are fitted with carrier clips for catalyst sachets used for anaerobic cycles. The jars will vent automatically if too much pressure is applied.

The stainless steel jars are available with a 9-plate capacity or 48-plate capacity. They are the most durable jars offered, and are constructed to last sample after sample.
