Patented use of “oval” shaped gloveless entry ports allow the introduction of samples/materials by acting as a transfer airlock. This process allows the user to place their materials in the chamber while placing their hands in the chamber, reducing overall gas consumption considerably by not having to run a secondary airlock cycle. Evacuation and gassing of sleeves as well as opening of inner doors are controlled via the wireless footswitch.

Patented use of Anotox (activated carbon impregnated with ferric hydroxide) for atmospheric conditioning. By using Anotox, the catalyst does not have to be removed and baked routinely. Anotox removes the Hydrogen Sulfide and volatile fatty acids (by-products of anaerobe metabolism) that poison the catalyst and can impede the growth of anaerobes.

The entire workstation is temperature controlled, allowing for temperatures between 4C and 44C. There is no need for extra incubators and loss of space efficiency.

The electronics and lighting are located in an external control housing. There is no need to compromise the workstation to change light bulbs or perform fuse replacement.

The 100 plate airlock is an option to the Whitley Workstation MG-500. The airlock cycle is electronically controlled and requires only a press of a button to operate. Catalyst dedicated to the airlock is housed internally and does not need to be changed or replaced.

Whitley Workstation Airlock Module

Three gases (TG) or mixed gas (MG) options available. For the fasted automated transfer time possible without compromising workstation conditions. Comes with sliding tray for easy transfer and has a 90 x 90mm plate capacity + space for sundries. The airlock cycle takes about 5 minutes to complete, once finished, the airlock is accessed frοm inside the chamber via a one-button elevator door.

Refrigeration Unit

Designed to maintain a lower than normal temperature within the incubation and working area. The standard refrigeration unit is designed to operate at 8±10C when located in an ambient temperature of 21±20C. Other set temperatures are achievable, but require discussion with our product development department in advance.

-Microscope and Bracket

A long focal length microscope, complete with bracket, fixtures and fittings.

-HEPA filtration unit

The HEPA filtration unit is available for all Whitley Workstation systems and recommended for BSL2 and higher safety environments. Atmosphere within the chamber is exhausted during normal cycle operations. This exhaust air can be filtered through the optional HEPA filtration system to avoid contamination of the lab environment. The system is comprised of dual stage filter units that are easily replaced every six months.

-Orbis Microplate and Tube Shakers

The Orbis shaker is a compact choice of microplate shaker for any test environment. It is small enough to fit easily into your Whitley Workstation chamber for use with organisms requiring the strict atmosphere. With a footprint marginally larger than that of the microplate it shakes, the Orbis offers the most advance solution for your shaking applications. The counter-balanced orbital movement guarantees a stable, quiet and life long operation. The Orbis shaker can be operated as a microtube shaker when used with an accessory tube platform.

-Whitley Workstation Airlock Trolley.

Converts any MACS 500 or 1000 trolley to accommodate an airlock.

Whitley Petrifoto Plate Imaging System

The Whitley Petrifoto System is a fantastic new accessory for the range of Whitley Workstations. The product fits inside a workstation and enables you to take detailed photographs of organisms growing on Petri dishes during incubation. This is ideal when colony development needs capturing throughout the incubation cycle and is a great tool for teaching and documentation.

The system uses a quality Canon compact digital camera with auto focus, a wide angle zoom lens and a 12.1 megapixel high resolution sensor, all designed to elicit a good quality image frοm even the most amateur of photographers. The camera can also be used independently of the imaging system, either inside or outside the workstation.

This robust unit is small enough to pass through the airlock on the Whitley A35 and A45 Workstations but is large enough to feature an innovative lighting system. The 3D light box contains 64 long life LEDs to provide even illumination. It has underside and side lighting that can be controlled independently to accommodate all agar and colony types. The Petrifoto System comes with an SD memory card and is compatible with Eye-Fi wireless memory cards to allow automatic image transmission to an external PC or MAC. This product can be retrofitted using the spare cable gland on your workstation.

Auto-Switching Regulator

Don't compromise your workstation environment by running out of gas. Our new auto-switching regulator allows you to connect to multiple gas tanks. If the first tank runs out, the regulator automatically switches over to the next tank. This also allows users to change out empty tanks without having to disconnect the gas supply frοm the workstation.

The SwitchPro System safely minimizes repetitive cylinder changeout labor and offers a safe and efficient method of connecting multiple cylinders to a common gas supply
line to provide centralized distribution of gas for both high and low purity delivery requirements. Utilizing SwitchPro Manifold Systems for the distribution of gas provides greater safety in the cylinder storage area by reducing repetitive cylinder handling and
also minimizes the risk of ambient contamination within the gas delivery network.
