Whitley A35 Workstation

Anaerobic Incubator - Workstation

With 30 years of experience in designing workstations for a variety of applications and having listened to our users, the Whitley A35 Anaerobic Workstation is born. This latest incarnation fulfils the diverse needs of both our research and clinical customers.

The A35 is the first workstation to be offered with our new glove/sleeveless system. Sample manipulation within a secure anaerobic environment is now as easy as working aerobically on the laboratory bench. The working and storage areas of the chamber are temperature controlled with an impressively low gradient throughout. This allows the full internal volume to be used as an incubator if desired.

Another major advantage of the sleeveless system is that it uses eight times less gas when entering the workstation compared with a conventional porthole system. The airlock is flushed with nitrogen as an additional cost-saving.

Anaerobic Workstation - Removable Front

To introduce samples or equipment, the built-in, 12 liter, rapid-cycle airlock has the capacity to introduce up to 40 Petri dishes into the workstation in 60 seconds. There is also the option to specify the 15cm letterbox, ideal for quickly transferring all sizes of dishes and small items.

Whatever your application, we can tailor the Whitley A35 Workstation to your requirements. For example, if you want to be able to use electrical equipment inside the chamber, you could include the option of a built-in, interior electrical socket. If you require the ability to thoroughly sanitize your workstation between experiments or need to introduce large items of equipment, you may want to specify the removable front option.

From a relatively small footprint we have been able to maximize incubation capacity to create the perfect environment, whether for a few plates or hundreds of plates.

The Whitley A35 Anaerobic Workstation is the latest innovation in workstation technology from Don Whitley Scientific. Complete with a built-in, rapid airlock and intuitive touch-screen control panel, this new workstation allows you to work completely glove and sleeve-free.

The new Whitley Anaerobic Conditions Monitoring System offers real-time, electronic monitoring of your anaerobic conditions inside your workstation. Our new oxygen monitoring system is complete with O2 sensor and a special software package, which operates through the touch screen interface on the Whitley A35 and A45 models. The O2 sensor is located inside the chamber for accurate oxygen readings of the internal atmosphere. The software package provides three levels of oxygen concentration indicators and alerts on the touch screen.

GREEN: In normal use with good operational practices followed by users, oxygen concentration will be within green levels.

YELLOW: If functioning correctly, your workstation should return to the green indicator in 15-30 minutes.

RED: This should not display for longer than 30 minutes. A prolonged red indication could mean a fault with the workstation's atmospheric control system (gas supply or functioning catalyst).

Spare Cable Gland – The standard cable gland allows cables and probes (3mm – 7mm in diameter) to be introduced into the chamber without compromising internal conditions. More than one gland can be fitted. Glands to accommodate larger diameters are available – please discuss with our technical staff.

Data Logging – For temperature, humidity and chamber pressure.

Convenient USB memory stick download of stored temperature, humidity and internal pressure parameters.

Trolley – Custom-designed trolley frees up bench space and allows the workstation to be moved easily.
Internal Storage Tray / maximum of 2 per unit – One or two trays can be positioned under the shelf. This is either a factory fitted option or trays can be fitted on-site.

Gas Regulators for A35 Workstation

Auto-Switching Regulator

Don't compromise your workstation environment by running out of gas.  Our new auto-switching regulator allows you to connect to multiple gas tanks.  If the first tank runs out, the regulator automatically switches over to the next tank.  This also allows users to change out empty tanks without having to disconnect the gas supply from the workstation.

The SwitchPro System safely minimizes repetitive cylinder changeout labor and offers a safe and efficient method of connecting multiple cylinders to a common gas supply
line to provide centralized distribution of gas for both high and low purity delivery requirements. Utilizing SwitchPro Manifold Systems for the distribution of gas provides greater safety in the cylinder storage area by reducing repetitive cylinder handling and
also minimizes the risk of ambient contamination within the gas delivery network.
